Adventures...

So, this post is mostly for makell and nicole, seeing that I find talking on the phone as a challenge, that they might hear about my California adventure with One Voice about three weeks after it happened. Just be happy I finally am doing it.
It was so much fun!
So we left for california on wednesday at 3:15 p.m. and after ten looonnng hours on a bus, we arrived at our hotel late that night.

Thursday: Disneyland

There is no doubt that we managed to experience all the best parts of disneyland in a single day. We arrived exactly when it opened, and hit all the rides we could before it got busy, then when it did get busy, we had fast passes for everything and went on all the best rides EVER! OH MY! It was pretty much the most magical day...I want to say in my life, but I feel as though that might be a tad bit dramatic...anyway so we didn't end up leaving until 12:00 p.m.
Are performance at disneyland went really well and it was really fun to perform there! But the overall best part ever of ever was a special show disney put on called the "World of Color"
We thought it was going to be pretty lame. How pitifully wrong we were. Try as I might I will fail at describing it. It moved me to tears! It was the best of disney wrapped in a colorful and watery world! I just seriously can't tell you about it, it would take to much energy, please observe what you can in the picture below...anyway moving on.

Friday:
Friday was also very very fun. That morning a large part of our group went and did baptisms for the dead at the Los Angles temple. So we're drivin and drivin and then we are like, twenty feet away from the temple, but the road is closed of. And so we are all like, "huh?" and stuff, so we ask this nearby officer who teases us and tells us the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES happens to be passing through at that moment. "Oh officer, you sly dog"
WRONG
THE PRESIDENT OBAMA OF THESE UNITED STATES really did pass through. It was crazy...and really really random. Of all things. Anyway so then we do baptisms at the beautiful and massive temple and it was amazing. The grounds were really pretty too.
Then we went to the beach. OH THE JOY! The waves were huge and so we rented a boogy board and played in the sun with 41 other awesome teenagers. There we were just building sand castles and burying each other in sand when someone shouts "WHALES!"
Can you believe this dorky choirs luck? Not one whale, but THREE beautiful whales. It was soooo cool!
After our endeavors at the beach it was time for mini golf and laser tag. I failed miserably at laser tag (mostly because I didn't know what I was doing) but I destroyed at mini golf. Okay so I won by one point but that's okay...
Saturday:
Was just a bunch of performing. Performance here and performance there...but it was actually quite touching. We went to this hospice type place to perform for a not-so-lively crowd. But it meant so much to them. Before the show my director actually went up to a lady and said "are you excited for the performance?" the lady couldn't speak, so she simply held up our poster that has been in her lap all day. Afterwards we visited them in their rooms, lots of them in very poor condition. It was really cool. That night we went to a super fly youth dance and it was wicked sweet!

Sunday: Easter
Alright I am sick of typing. So I'm keeping this brief.
That beautiful easter sunday was a truly spiritual day filled with little miracles for everyone. We performed at the temple visiting center and also at a ward there in california. By the end of the performance, tears were streaming down everyone's face. Doc (choir director) said that there was no way we could have produced that much volume. He swears the voices of heaven were singing with us. Everyone would have probably found that odd had they not felt it to, including me.

Monday: Homeward bound
We stopped two more places to perform and went to the mall then headed home. Upon our arrival home, we found ourselves very much attached to one another, and couldn't believe that it was over. I still can't...seems like it didn't even happen (then again it was like, a month ago)
I loved One Voice. It was a lot of commitment but it was a pretty good experince for me. Here are some pics....

Oh and special thanks to Cameron. He's been so could to drive me just about everywhere even after our thousands of road-trips together. I'm pretty sure there is not a conversation in the world that we haven't had. He's like my older brother now :) thanks Cam!
